HRH THE PRINCESS OF WALES

This is going to be a very short post because there’s not a lot to say about the Princess of Wales’s work year. The year will always have an asterisk on it for the Princess of Wales.

In mid January, she had serious abdominal surgery. Then, post-operative tests revealed cancer, meaning she spent months undergoing chemotherapy, then spent much of the autumn recovering from those gruelling treatments.

As such, she spent 2024 on the royal version of medical leave as she focused on her health and her family, especially her young children. As she said in the letter for guests of her annual Christmas carol concert: “It is when we stop and take ourselves away from the pressures of daily life, that we find the space to live our lives with an open heart, with love, kindness and forgiveness.”
