THE ROYAL TIMELINE OF 2025
Jan 1: Meghan activates her @Meghan account on Instagram
Jan 2: Meghan and Netflix reveal the trailer for her lifestyle show, “With Love, Meghan” that will air on Jan 15. There is no reference to her American Riviera Orchard product line.
Jan 8: Fifth anniversary of Harry and Meghan announcing they are “stepping back” from royal duties (2020)
Jan 9: Kate, Princess of Wales, turns 43 (1982)
Jan 9: Prince Edward attends the state funeral of President Jimmy Carter
Jan 10: Second anniversary of the publication of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare (2023)
Jan 14: At the Royal Marsden cancer hospital in London on her first solo public engagement since her surgery last January, Kate, Princess of Wales reveals that she is in remission from cancer.
Jan 17: First anniversary of the day that changed everything: Kensington Palace revealed that the Princess of Wales had undergone abdominal surgery on Jan. 16, and then Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III would undergo a procedure the next week for an enlarged prostate.
Jan 20: Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, turns 60 (1965)
Jan 22: A day after Prince Harry’s unlawful information gathering court case against News Group Newspapers (publishers of the Sun and defunct News of the World) was set to begin — it got delayed due to settlement talks — he settles for a “full and unequivocal apology” from NGN “for the serious intrusion by The Sun between 1996 and 2011 into his private life, including incidents of unlawful activities carried out by private investigators working for The Sun” plus “phone hacking, surveillance and misuse of private information by journalists and private investigators instructed by them at the News of the World” It also apologizes for serious intrusions in the private life of Diana, Princess of Wales. The settlement is reportedly around CAD$15-30 million (roughly in line with his legal bills). He had been expected to testify for four days in February.
Jan 26: First anniversary of King Charles undergoing a prostate procedure at the London Clinic.
Jan 27: King Charles in Poland for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
Feb 5: First anniversary of the King revealing he has cancer, detected during the prostate procedure, and is undergoing treatment. The form of cancer is not revealed.
Feb 8: Harry and Meghan expected at the opening ceremony of the Vancouver-Whistler Invictus Games, which runs from Feb 8-16 and has 11 sports, including winter options for the first time.
Feb 16: The BAFTA Awards are held. Prince William is president.
Feb 17: Meghan ditches her American Riviera Orchard brand, which was stalled with trademark issues, for a new brand, As Ever, which will be launched in collaboration with Netflix. The announcement comes just before the launch of her “With Love, Meghan” lifestyle show.
Feb 19: Prince Andrew turns 65 (1960)
March 4: Meghan’s eight-part lifestyle series, “With love, Meghan,” airs on Netflix after being delayed from its original Jan 15 premiere date due to the wildfires in Los Angeles. It claims to “reimagine the genre.”
March 10: Prince Edward turns 61 (1964).
March 10: Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.
March 14: First anniversary of Meghan soft launching her new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard on Instagram and website. (starting with just a logo, sign-up list, and 15-second video).
March 22: First anniversary of the Princess of Wales revealing in a 2:20 minute video that cancer had been found in post-operative tests and she had been undergoing preventative chemotherapy since late February.
March 24: Prince Harry resigns from his Sentebale charity over an internal dispute with its chair, Sophie Chandauka.
